Artist Statement

Steve J. Giardini

I am a creative artist specializing in expressive photographic art. My photographs aim to communicate a feeling, concept, or idea. I often combine two or more images into a single composite. I do not use artificial intelligence to generate subject matter; however, I do use advanced editing techniques, including AI editing tools. I am running a few minutes late; my previous meeting is running over.

My techniques are not novel; they have been around since the early days of analog photography. While inspired by many artists with similar approaches, I focus on developing my own unique style rather than copying others. 

My work involves the deliberate and skillful merging of creativity and technique to produce meaningful and beautiful photographs. In the end, I seek to create art that resonates with me personally.

More About Steve

I am a professional creative artist, teacher, mentor, workshop leader, and speaker. I mainly use a camera to create expressive and subjective art influenced by mindfulness, emotion, and sensory experiences. My work is carefully composed and designed, subjectively processed, and artistically presented as a fine art print.

Most of my work incorporates elements of the natural world and is rendered in abstract form. I blend multiple images and sometimes other self-produced resources, resulting in an expressionist composite.

Based in Bend, Oregon, I spend most of my time photographing in the western United States. No one place or subject is sacrosanct. I find beauty, motivation, and influence in most places and things.

I am a lifelong learner. My creative journey is a continuum. What is most important to me is that my artwork reflects who I am. My embedded expression may differ from that of those who study my art. In many respects, this is expected and encouraged.

What I Offer

Most of my fine art photos are Limited Editions printed on premium archival gallery paper using archival pigment inks. If correctly displayed and cared for, my prints will last 100+ years. Expect heirloom-quality prints with elegant tones on beautiful paper.

I expertly edit each print and either print it myself or outsource printing to a master printmaker under my direction. Each print is personally signed and titled. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with each print sold.

Business Practices

My business is built on a foundation of personal relationships, mutual trust, and a commitment to provide excellent products and services. Here’s my perspective on selling art;

Few people buy fine art without meeting the artist. I find communicating with collectors a delightful experience! I enjoy helping people purchase a print they will appreciate for a lifetime.

Many buyers find it uncomfortable to buy expensive fine art without physically experiencing a sample. I understand the hesitation. I encourage potential clients to schedule a gallery visit. This is an opportunity to see sample prints and inspect the quality and attention to detail.

Customizing the Final Print Presentation

Prints are offered without mounting, matting, or framing. However, print mounting, matting, and framing are available. I am happy to coordinate this service for print buyers.

Fine art prints should come with a warranty. I am confident that every collector will be pleased with their print. I offer a three-month satisfaction guarantee and warranty with each print sold.
