Artist Statement

Interpreting Moments In Time

I am a fine art creative photographer, teacher, writer, and public speaker.

My images are mostly of the natural world. Each represents my interpretation of a moment in time. My work is expressive, subjective, and influenced by my mindful, emotional, and sensory experiences. Each image is carefully composed, subjectively processed, and artistically presented as a fine art paper print.

Print size, paper type, and final presentation design are selected to match my artistic vision. I control the creative and artistic process from field capture to final print. Prints represent the final step in the creative process. I aim to create expressive images of museum quality that collectors can appreciate forever.

What I Offer

My fine art photos are printed on premium archival gallery paper using archival pigment inks. If correctly displayed and cared for, my prints will last 100+ years. Expect heirloom quality prints with elegant print tones on beautiful paper surfaces.

Each print is expertly edited by me and produced by master printmakers under my direction. Each is personally signed and titled. A Certificate of Authenticity and story card is included with each print sold.

Business Practices

My business is built on a foundation of personal relationships, mutual trust, and a commitment to provide excellent products and services. Here’s my perspective on selling art;

Few people buy fine art without meeting the artist. Fortunately, I find communicating with collectors a delightful experience! I enjoy helping people purchase a print they will appreciate for a lifetime.

Buying expensive fine art without seeing the physical piece is uncomfortable for many buyers. I understand the hesitation. I encourage potential clients to schedule a gallery visit. This is an opportunity to see sample prints and inspect the quality and attention to detail.

Many want to know the behind-the-scene story of an image. I love writing about where and how I capture images. A Photo Story Card accompanies every fine art photograph purchased. The card includes the date, time, location, and a few sentences about the experience.

Some want to customize the final print presentation. Prints are offered mounted, matted, framed, and ready to hang. However, options for custom finishes are possible. Collectors with their artistic vision or ideas about a custom finish are welcome. I am happy to make their vision come to fruition.

Fine art prints should come with a warranty. I am confident that every collector will be pleased with their print. I offer a three-month satisfaction guarantee and warranty with each print sold. Why wouldn’t I? I aim to have happy customers who will make future purchases and refer others! The warranty and return policy details are posted on the website.

Experience and Accomplishments

Like most artists, my work has transitioned over the years. Early work was mostly of iconic locations presented objectively and representatively. St. Charles Health Care System, the Council On Aging, Pilot Butte Medical Center, and several local medical clinics own photographs of this style. This work has also been published in Bend Lifestyle, Bend Magazine, and Landscape Photography Magazine, a UK online photography monthly.

My focus has shifted. Today, the goal is to create subjective and expressive fine art images. The creative process is slower, more deliberate, and more impressionistic. The final photos represent my interpretation of a scene based on the experience.

On Landscape, a UK online publication has published work in this new style. More examples, mostly in black and white, hang in the Sisters Gallery and Frame Shop in Sisters, Oregon.
